Situated 15 minutes from Main Camp, Mashatu Tented Camp is nestled in the remote northern area of the Mashatu Game Reserve in the Tuli Block of Botswana. The camp sleeps a maximum of 16 guests in eight twin tents tucked under the branches of enormous trees.
Although rustic in character, each tent boasts ample space and comfort with comfortable beds as well as private outdoor en suite bathroom and shower. Guests enjoy meals in the open air thatched gazebo as well in the traditional boma for intimate campfire dinners overlooking a floodlit waterhole. The camp also contains a plunge pool.
Activities center on game drives in open 4-wheel drive safari vehicles in the 75,000 acre Mashatu Game Reserve. Besides elephant, lion, cheetah, leopard, and hyena, general game like giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, eland and a variety of antelope, nocturnal species like spring hares, bat eared fox, civet cat, genet cat, honey badger, and mongoose occur throughout the reserve. For the “twitchers”, Mashatu boasts up to 350 different bird species, making for exciting viewing. For an additional cost, a limited number of mountain bicycles are available for participation in cycling safaris. Horseback riding and archaeological walks are also available as optional extras.
