The Plettenberg Hotel is built on a rocky headland with beautiful views of the sea, sand, and mountains. All 40 superbly furnished rooms and suites include a private bathroom, television, and under carpet heating. Suites in the luxurious Blue Wing come equipped with either air conditioning or ceiling fans. Breakfast, lunch, and tea are served either on the terrace or in the enclosed Sun Room of the Blue Wing, from which guests can watch dolphins frolicking in the surf. In the winter, the whales arrive to mate and calve in the bay. Dinner at the Plettenberg Restaurant consists of a variety of fresh seafood and lamb from the nearby Karoo, complimented by a list of fine South Africa wines. Activities offered are rock and deep sea fishing and diving. There are two Gary Player designed golf courses in the vicinity and bowls and tennis are offered at the nearby Country Club. Guests can also enjoy coastal drives and day trips to Knysna and Tsitsikamma forest.
