• Ol Donyo

Ol Donyo Lodge lies in the heart of the Mbirikani Maasai Group Ranch, on the slopes of the Chyulu Hills National Park between Amboseli and Tsavo West National Parks in southeast Kenya. Its positioning allows unrivaled – full views of Mt. Kilimanjaro while also sitting right in the path of traditional wildlife migration routes.

Rich in history, passion and conservation, this 10 suite lodge was completely redesigned and rebuilt in 2008. Individual decoration ensures that no two suites are alike, but all feature views across the vast savannah and onwards to Mt. Kilimanjaro. Luxurious décor makes use of authentic African art as well as the photography of Carol Beckwith and Angela Fisher to create a relaxing space under high thatched roofs. Each suite features a rooftop “Star Bed,” allowing guests the fabulous opportunity to sleep under the stars should they so choose. Additionally, each suite contains its own lounge, verandah, indoor / outdoor shower, bath, and flush toilet while all but 2 suites feature their own private plunge pool. Four-bedded private villas prove ideal for families or small groups of friends.

Over 7,000 wild animals live their lives in and around the Ol Donyo environs. Not only do guests enjoy a chance to view the “Big Five” (rhino, elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo), they also have an opportunity to view countless other lesser known species like fringe-eared oryx and gerenuk. Track wildlife by vehicle, foot, or horseback and take advantage of the opportunity to track elusive nocturnal species on night drives. This private area is reserved for sole use by Ol Donyo, ensuring a completely private and exclusive experience.
